Objective: To investigate the characteristics of hemodialysis for children and the clinical significance of using HD to children’s renal failure.
Methods: 185 HD samples from 45 patients between 1 and 14 years of sever renal failure and drug intoxication were considered in this study.
Results: After HD, 16 patients fully recovered, 12 improved, 11 died with no relation to HD, and 6 abandoned treatment. The major complications are unbalance syndrome ( 8.9%) and hypotension ( 11.1%).
Conclusions: The key factory of HD success is to construct vascular passage, establish blood volume and prevent complication. HD is an efficient, safe and reliable treatment to save renal failure children.
