Objective: To understand significance of interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-8 and IL-10 in asthma attack and relief.

Methods: 30 cases in asthma attack, 8.16±4.17 years of age. 30 cases in asthma relief, 7.86±3.21 years of age. 20 cases  in control group, 8.10±3.15 years of age. IL-6, IL-8 and IL-10 were detected with ELISA technique in three groups.

Results: The level of serum IL-6 and IL-8 in asthma attack was significantly higher than that in asthma relief (P<0.05) and control group (P<0.01), but the level of serum IL-10 was significantly lower than that in asthma relief (P <0.05) and control group (P<0.01). The level of serum IL-6 and IL-8 in asthma relief was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05), but the level of serum IL-10 was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion: The study confirmed that airway inflammation of asthma was related to up-regulation of IL-6. And IL-8 and down-regulation of IL-10 and severe degree of asthma was showed in different aspect by level of serum IL-6, IL-8 and IL-10 .To different characteristics of IL-6, IL-8 and IL-10 in asthmatic airway inflammation, it’s important to take corresponding treatment.
