CLINICAL EFFECT OF TREATING CHILDREN CEREBRAL PALSY WITH HEAD ACUPUNCTURE

Objective: To investigate the best combination rehabilitation cure of children cerebral palsy (CP)

Methods: We treated 300 cases of children cp with combined therapy of head acupuncture hyoscyamus drugs and function training Occupational Therapy (OT) Physio Therapist (PT). The course of treatment was three months.

Results: 117cases showed the effect, 96 cases had obvious effect, 87 cases had not effect, total effective rates reached 72%. Meanwhile in the control group of 50 cases, we treated them with head acupuncture and function training. After the course of treatment of three months, the effective rate was 48% (compared with the control group, t=30098 p<0.01). After treatment, group is improved obviously compared with that before treatment. It exists obviously that difference of total integration index was amount of grass motor function measure (GMFM) were higher than those in the control group (p<0.01).

Conclusion: The paper shows that treating children cp with head acupuncture treatment is one of the most effective methods of restoration.
