ANALYSIS OF SUB-CLINICAL CONDITION
OF VITAMIN A DEFICIENCY Wang J-Y Tianjin, China Objective: To explore the sub-clinical condition of vitamin A deficiency in
normal children. Methods: After physical examination, minimal blood of the finger tip was
taken from each of the 86 children. Vitamin A was tested with micro-fluorimetry.
Hemoglobin was tested with ferricyanide method. Results: Two children were sure to be in a sub-clinical condition of vitamin A
deficiency. Twenty-six children were
suspicious. The incidence was 33%. The deficient condition had nothing with
to do children physical development, but hall obvious correlation with repented
respiratory infection. Conclusion: The sub-clinical condition of vitamin A deficiency should be noted. Vitamin A should be regarded as a sort of vitamin which can be anti-infective and should be used wildly in children who are prone to suffer from repeated respiratory infection. |
