THE
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE HELICOBACTERIUM PYLORIC
INFECTION AND THE FUNCTIONAL DYSPEPSIA IN CHILDREN ZHANG Wanming1, WANG Lan2,
ZHENG Min2 1. Hubei Medical Staff College, Jingzhou, China 2. The Second Hospital of Jingzhou, China Objective: To search for the relationship between the
helicobacterium pyloric (HP) infection and the functional dyspepsia in
children. Methods: Case-control research. There were 163 cases of
functional dyspepsia and 54 normal children in control group. The serum
HP-IgC was determined by ELISA. The
gastric urea test was used. Results: The rate of the serum HP-IgG was 43.6% in the
functional dyspepsia and 14.8% in normal children (X2=14.7,
P<0.01). It was observed that the positive rate of the functional
dyspepsia was higher than of the control group (15.3%:3.7%, X2=5.07,
P<0.05).Among 15 cases of the functional dyspepsia examined with the
endoscope, 12 cases suffered from chronic
gastritis. The symptoms disappeared after antibiotics were used. Conclusion: The functional dyspepsia is associated with
infection of HP, which is a main etiological factor of the dyspepsia in
children.
