Objective: The aim of this study
was to investigate the relations among Leptin, insulin, corticoids, sex steroids,
blood lipide and body mass index (BMI) in obesity children and also to
research the difference of the endocrinal function between obesity and
normal children. Thus we can make further investigation of the cause and
result of the endocrinal disorder in obesity children.
Methods: obesity group 33 case,
aged 7 to 15 years, means 10.5 years; control group 30 case, aged 6 to 15
years, means 10.3 years. Divided into three groups according to age: 6~9
years, 10~12 years and 13~15 years. We have measured the levels of Leptin,
insulin, corticoids, sex steroids, blood lipide, height, weight, BMI and
have made statistical analysis of all the data.
Result: Leptin concentrations of
obesity children have no remarkably different in every groups and that of
obesity children were correlated closely with corticoids, progesterone (P),
follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), triglyceride, high density lipoprotein,
low density lipoprotein. It was shown that circulating Leptin levels in
obesity children significantly function with the BMI. Compared with normal
boys, obesity boys have remarkably higher levels of Leptin, insulin, corticoids,
estrovite and obviously lower levels of testosterone.
Conclusion: In obesity boys, it has
been speculated that sex hormone lever is different of normal boys and
Leptin concentrations were correlated closely with P and FSH, So our
research have provided a case for farther study of Leptin in human
reproductive function.
