Objective: the aim of our investigation – detection of some cytogenetic changes in children living in region of an ecological catastrophe.

Methods: 102 children were examined by method casual unrepeated of samples. Cytogenetic investigation was being carried out by macro method with accordance of standard methodic.

Results: General frequency of aberrations per cell - 1,88+0,015 in examined group (10200 cells were analyzed), from which 0,30+0,003 – chromosomal aberrations, 1,58+0,015 – chromatid aberrations. Astable aberrations were presented by chromatid exchanges (0,04+0,004), dicentrics  (0,06+0,001), solitary fragments (1,48+0,001) and twin fragments (0,24+0,002). Stable aberrations – by deletions (0,05+0,005) and translocations (0,01+0,001).

Conclusion: Prevalence of the aberrations of chromatid type (solitary fragments, chromatid exchanges) is characteristic peculiarity of the chemical mutagenesis.
