THE RELEVANT ANALYSIS OF
VITAMIN D RECEPTOR GENE POLYMORPHISM AND CHILDREN RICKETS

Objective: To study the
relevance of vitamin D receptor gene (VDR) polymorphism and children
rickets.
Method: Using
PCR-RFLP method, study the gene polymorphism of Han nationality’s rickets
children patients and healthy children as well as the relevance to rickets
clinical finding.
Result: BB.Bb.bb
gene frequency of Han nationality healthy children is: 0.01 .0.08 .0.91
respectively. Rickets patients’ genes are obviously different from normal
control group. There is evidently different BALP values in different VDR
gene types. In rickets BB group and control group, the values of BALP is
the same; BALP values of Bb and bb are different from normal control group.
BALP values of Bb are higher than the bb type, different gene type rickets
patients have different clinical symptoms. Curative effects of vitamin D to
different gene type patients are different, the effect to bb is best, and
Bb type is medium, BB type is worst.
Conclusion: The gene of
VDR can affect the balance of Calcium in body, different gene type decide
different reaction to Calcium absorbed and Vitamin D. Tt is significant for
us to prevent and cure rickets and to understand individual VDR gene type.
