PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEENAPOPTOSIS AND
GLOMERULOSCLEROSIS

Objective: In order to explore the
pathogenesis of glomerulosclerosis, we investigated the relationship between
apoptosis and glomerulosclerosis by establishing an experimental animal
model of glomerulosclerosis.
Method: (1) Induced a rat model of glomerulosclerosis
by left nephrectomy and intravenous injection of Daunomycin. (2)
Investigated thephenomenon of apoptosis by TUNEL.
Result: (1) The features of renal
histopathology in rats of glomerulosclerosis model were resemblance to primary
focal segmental glomerulosclerosis in human. The sclerosed lesion began in
4th week and occurred in multiple segments of glomeruli after 8th week. (2)
The level of apoptosis in experimental group was significantly higher than
that in control group except 2th week. (3) The number of apoptosis cells
was negative related to the amount of glomerular cellsafter 4th.
Conclusion: There is a
significant relationship between apoptosis and glomerulosclerosis.
Apoptosis may play an important role in decrecesing ofglomerular resident
cells.
