Objective: To evaluate the clinic
significance of glucose metabolic disorder in neonatal hypoxic ischemic
encephalopathy (HIE).
Methods: Filter paper strips were
used in determining blood glucose concentration in 218 cases of neonatal
HIE, and the dynamic determination of blood glucose was observed.
Results: 131 cases of glucose
metabolic disorder were found in 218 neonatal HIE (60.1%). 98 cases of them
showed the hypoglycemia (44.7%), and 33 cases showed the hyperglycemia
(15%). The incidence of hypoglycemia was higher than hyperglycemia.
Conclusion: It is essential to
monitor carefully the blood glucose concentration of the newborn with HIE,
so that the neonatal hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia can be discovered and
treated in time, and the damage of central nervous would be avoided. .
