INVESTIGATION ON THE DEMANDING OF HEALTHCARE EDUCATION AMONG HOSPITALIZED CHILDREN’S PARENTS

Objective: For impersonally and systematically understand the demanding of healthcare education for the sick children’s parents.

Methods: We investigated 144 parents by sending questionnaire. The items of the questionnaire were designed base on what we are teaching in our hospital. There into, the items for common condition of the child and the parents, the best education time, the attitude to healthcare education are single choices. The item for the education method and material are multiple choices.

Results: 1. For the best education time, 40.98% parents consider after 24 hours of admission, only 11.81% think within 24 hours of admission. 2. The requirement of healthcare education is increased, and the education quality incessantly heighten. 3. The sequence in education method is one to one talking, parent’s seminar, group-teaching, electrical education. 4. The concern of mental and social factors differ from the parents with above high school or below middle school education level.

Conclusion: The results cue us healthcare education should be done individually and personally. Some polices that we are carrying out should be change to adapt our client’s needing, in order to yield good results.
