COORDINATION OF
PEDIATRIC LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY WITH HIRSCHSPRUNG’S DISEASE

Objective: To discuss the coordination of pediatric laparoscopic surgery
using the harmonic scalpel with Hirschsprung’s disease (HD).
Methods:
Ten hospitalized children with HD, ages 6 months to 9 years, underwent
laparoscopic surgery using the harmonic scalpel .
Results: The surgery in 10 patients was sussesful and no complications.
Conclusion: Laparoscopic surgery using harmonic scalpel in infants and
children with HD is quick, effective and minimally invasive. The keys of
the coordination in this surgery is keeping the equipment clean, effective,
well coordination with the operators.
