THE COMBINED OF TREATMENT OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE AND WESTERN MEDICINE ON SCLEREDEMA NEONATORUM - CLINICAL OBSERVATION OF 62 CASES

Objective: To research the clinical curative effect of Scleredema neonatorum by applied with Scleredema Plaster Chinese medicine and introduce the prescription and compound method of the plaster.

Methods: The children (n=62) suffered Scleredema neonatorum was divided into two groups randomly. One group (n=26, Ve group) was applied with vitamin E ointment, the other group (n=36, SP group) was applied with Scleredema plaster. All children was cured with basic treatment.

Results: The children's condition took a favorable turn in SP group. The cure rate of SP group was 91.7 percent, but of Ve group was 65.3 percent, P<0.01. The course of disease of SP group was 6.0+1.0 days, but of Ve group was 9.0+1.0 days, P<0.05. The incidence rate of complication was decreased.

Conclusions: By applied with SP on the children suffered Scleredema neonatorum, the cure rate was increased and the course of disease was shortened obviously. So we advise that this china traditional medicine should be used widely.
