CLINICAL ANALYSIS OF CHILDREN MALIGNANT TUMORS IN THE HEAD AND NECK

Objective: To improve the diagnosis and treatment of children malignant tumors in the head and neck.

Method: 16 cases children malignant tumors in the head and neck were reported and clinical features were analyzed.

Result: Rhabdomyosarcoma and non-Hodgkin¡¯s is the most common. It makes up 44% and 31%.  Survival rate were improved after treatment with operation and radiotherapy or chemotherapy or combinations.

Conclusion: The prognosis of RMS and non-Hodgkin¡¯s were very poor.  It is important that the local primary lesion is found easily and diagnosed correctly and treated properly for improving survival rate.
