Objective: To understand the value
of the electric impedance respirograph (IRG) detecting in diagnosis of
diaphragmatic muscle fatigue (DMF) with bronchiolitis.
Methods: 109 cases of
bronchiolitis and 60 cases normal children were studied with ZK-VI type
intelligence electric impedance respirograph to measurement diaphragmatic
function. Their chest-abdominal breathing movement curve were recorded and
expressed a chest-abdominal of two-dimensional graph by computer. The ratio
of chest-abdominal curve difference of the time to peak and respiratory
cycle (T/C ratio) were obtained .The αangle of chest electric
impedance between maximal value and minimal valve continuous line was
measured. Meanwhile, blood-gas analyze of 109 with bronchiolitis were
examined.
Results: There were 78 cases DMF
in the 109 children with bronchiolitis. There were significant differences
in mean (SD) T/C radio between group with DMF (1 type: 45.20±4.58; 2 type:
16.30±2.29 respectively) and nomad controls (5.23±0.72)(P<0.01);
αangle (1
type: 135.8±11.63; 2 type: 45.13±7.41,
respectively) and normal controls (28.97±4.98)(P<0.01).
Conclusion: The electric impdance
respirograph measurtion is very valuable method used as diagnostic for
diaphragmatic muscle fatigue of bronchiolitis. There was a significant
Correlation between DMF and respiratory failure.
