Objective: To study the effect of restore glutathion (GSH) in neonatal hyperbilirubinemia with erythrocyte glucose-6-phospate dehyrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency
Methods: 58 cases neonatal unconjugated hyperbilirubinemia with G-6-PD deficiency were randomly divided into two groups (treated group 32 cases, contrast group 28cases). The contrast group was cured using routine treatment. For example blue light phototherapy and pathogeny treatment. Besides the treated group were used intravenous drip with 10 percent glucose solution 20ml dissolving GSH (100mg/kg) in, one time a day, Bilirubin level of two group were seperately tested before and after three days of treament.
Results: After treatment the average bilirbin level of treated group diclined 89.41 um.ol/l and the contrast on declined 57.52 um ol/l. The treated group was better than the contrast group (t=2.363, p<0.05) and without abvious side effects.
Conclusion: G-6-PD deficiency is common disease in south and southwest of China, and the one of important reason of neonatal jaundice. GSH can enable disappear of jaundice in newborns.
