In this sampling inspection IgG and IgM of the blood serums, including 31 cases of small for gestational age (SGA infants)、14 newborn twins and 24 normal newborn infants have been surveyed. Meanwhile RV IgG and RV IgM of the above objects have been also surveyed. The results indicate that when the birth weight is < 1500g, IgG is 18.21 + 3.02g/L ~ 2500g, IgG 14.90 + 2.51g/L; >2500g, IgG 9.62 + 2.21g/L, which means that IgG increases with the decreasing of the birth weight, r = 0.8712, P<0.01, they are highly negative relationship. When the birth weight is < 1500g, IgG is 0.27 + 0.08g/L ~2500; <2500g, IgG 14.90 + 2.51g/L; >2500g, IgG 9.62 + 2.21g/L ~ 2500g, IgM 0.12 + 0.04g/L, they are also highly negative relationship. IgG of the SGA infants are more notably different than the normal infants’,( t =5.128, P<0.01); IgM between them are more notably different too (t =4.952, P < 0.01 ). The IgM of the single pregnancy SGA infants are distinctly higher than the twins’ (t = 4.925,P < 0.01), as well the IgG between the single pregnancy infants and the twins( t = 7.154, P < 0.01). Among 31 cases of SGA infants, RVIgG of 18 cases are positive; among 24 cases of the normal newborn infants, RVIgG of 2 cases are positive and the differences are very distinct. As for RVIgM, 19 cases positive out of 31 cases of SGA infants; 4 cases positive out of 24 cases of the normal newborn infants, the differences are also quite distinct. Conclusion: TORCH infection within the uterus is often the cause of SGA infants, and the rubella virus infection frequently occurs. That’s to say that TORCH infection is one of the most important elements to cause the stunt, and IgG, IgM are the most important references to determine the infection within the uterus. So IgG and IgM should be regularly examined among SGA infants.
