Objective: Introduce
two important and unique improvements of staged silo closure to treat
newborns with gastroschisis.
Method: One
improvement is selecting material. The plastic packaging bag of saline is
chosen as the mending material which is very easy to get and convenient to
compress the viscera back into the abdominal cavity, in addition the
material is very cheap in compared with others .The other is the double
relief stitches. When the viscera returned to the cavity completely, the
surgeons mended the incision defect by double relief stitches in order to
reduce the tension.
Results: 7 cases got
the satisfactory follow-up results .We keep the preoperative and
postoperative photos and cases’ materials.
Conclusion: Plastic
packaging bag of saline is safe and practical, double relief stitches can
resolve the problem of incision defect.
