During the past ten years, we have some
survey in the field of pediatric dermatological infectious diseases. This
paper discusses some of these on etiology, diagnosis, therapies and
complications.
1.
Impetigo contagiosa is one of the
most common skin infections in children. From 1991 to 2000, 1022 patients
with impetigo were enrolled in a study aiming to survey the infectious
agents. The study showed the etiology of impetigo was predominantly
associated with Staphylococcus
Aureus. We further described the antibiotic resistance status of Staphylococcus Aureus.
2.
Tinea capitis is a common dermatophyte
infection in children. During the past 8 years, we have observed 511 cases
of tinea capitis. The most common organism was Microsporum canis followed by Trichophyton Mentagrophytes. Besides clinical features, therapy
and prognosis for tinea capitis were discussed.
3.
In consequence of the prevalence
of primary and secondary syphilis in adults, the incidence of congenital
syphilis has been rising during the past decade. The clinical features of
10 cases of congenital syphilis were compared, and the therapies and
prognosis were discussed.
