THE
IMMUNOLOGICAL CHANGES IN PATIENTS WITH APLASTIC ANEMIA INDUCED BY HUMAN
PARVOVIRUS B19 Qian X-H1, Zheng Y-J1, Zhang G-C1, Jiao X-Y2 1 Xijing Hospital, Fourth Military
Medical University, Xian, China 2 Fourth Military Medical
University, Xian, China Objective: To explore the immunological changes of aplastic anemia (AA)
induced by human parvovirus B19 (HPV B19) infection. Methods: The serum levels of interleukin (IL)-8, IL-6, TNF-a and IFN-a were detected in AA patients by using ELISA. Results: The levels of the
above-mentioned cytokines were significantly higher in AA patients than
those in the normal control. The IL-8 level was also higher in HPV
B19-positive AA group than that in HPV B19-negative AA group (P<0.05). Furthermore, the level
of IL-8 was positively correlated with TNF-a and IFN-a, and
that of TNF-a was
positively correlated with IL-6 in HPV B19-positive AA group (r = 0.565, 0.603 and 0.860, respectively , P< 0.01). Conclusions: There are obvious immunological disorders in patients with AA
infected with HPV B19 and several cytokines specially IL-8 might be
involved in the immunopathogenesis of this disease.
