Objective: To explore the effects of dexamethasone on airway remodeling in
SD rats.
Methods:
36 SD rats were studied. Aerosol inhalation sensitized OVA to airway in SD
rats. First, vital labeled 5-Bradu, then double immuno-histochemical method
was used to study synthesis of DNA of epithelial cell and airway smooth
muscle. The thickness of epithelial cell and airway smooth muscle were
detected by pathological methods. Aerosol inhlation of dexamethasone was
used in one group.
Results:
Synthesis rats of DNA of epithelial cell and airway smooth muscle decreased
in Asthma model of SD rats that used dexamethasone in compared to controls.
Conclusions: It is possible to use dezamethasone to reduce airway remodeling
in SD rat.
