Objective: To explore the effect in the pathogenesis and clinical value of serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) and soluble receptors for interleukin-2 (sIL-2R) in acute rheumatic fever (ARF) in pediatrics.
Methods: Concentration of serum TNF-a and sIL-2R were measured in the control group (n=23), the rheumatic rest group (n=26) and the rheumatic activity group (n=30) with single clone antibody ELISA. Concentration of serum TNF-a, sIL-2R, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were measured before and after treatment in rheumatic activity group.
Results: (1) Concentrations of serum TNF-a, sIL-2R were obviously elevated in the activity group. There were significantly statistical differences between the activity group and the rest group 、the control group (p<0.001). ⑵ Concentration of serum TNF-a, sIL-2R、ESR and CRP were significantly reduced before and after treatment in the activity group(p<0.001). The sensitivity of TNF-a and sIL-2R was more excellent than of ESR and CRP.
Conclusion: TNF-a and sIL-2R enlist the pathogenesis, can be the target for observing the rheumatism activity and the effect of remedy In ARF.
