MEETING THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN WORLDWIDE - CHALLENGES FOR THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH SERVICES

Leslie Mancuso

Chief Operations Officer, Project HOPE

Project HOPE is a non-profit health education Foundation.  HOPE is an acronym for "health opportunities for people everywhere."  That phrase has described the mission of the organization for 42 years through partnerships and education: to help families and communities around the world attain lasting improvements in health care.  Project HOPE maintains a special commitment to the most vulnerable groups in the world; infants and children.

This lecture will outline global child health problems and contemporary challenges for the delivery of pediatric nursing health services to the world's children.  The critical role of the pediatric nurse as a member of the multidisciplinary team will be highlighted.  The lecture will provide practical examples of innovative pediatric nursing/child health programs supported by Project HOPE worldwide.
