Objective: To explore the relative factors influencing the prognosis of childhood asthma in china.
Methods: 110 cases of asthmatic children were followed up and observed in this study for 2 to 7 years. By using the method of plural regression, 11 indexes were analyzed.
Results: The group with a complete freedom from asthma more than 2 years included 31 cases (29.18%). The indexes of environmental exposure, the severity of disease, the number of respiratory viral infections, the family history of atopy, passive smoking and dietary habit were an interrelation with the prognosis. The indexes of gender, preterm delivery, the age of onset of symptoms, the presence of atopic conditions and breast feeding weren’t the contributing factors to the prognosis.
Conclusion: The early environmemtal exposure, the severe degree of disease, the positive family history of atopy and passive smoking were the risk factors to the prognosis. The increased viral infections and the dietary habit of a high intake of fresh fish were the favorable factors to the prognosis.
