Objective: To discuss the value of impulse oscillometry system (IOS) in the bronchidilating test in children, and compared with conventional pulmonary function test .
Method: Use IOS and traditional method to measure R5, X5, FEV1, PEF and FEF in children with asthma, aged from 3~14 years old, before and after inhaling bonchidilator, and then compare the sensitivity of these two methods.
Result: After the test the improvement of FEV1, PEF and FEF are 4.08%, 9.05% and 12.06% respectively. But that of R5 and X5 (belong to IOS induces) are 19.55% and 25.70% respectively, significantly higher than traditional method.
Conclusion: The sensitivity of IOS is better than conventional pulmonary function test. It can be used as a new sensitive index for assessment of bronchidilating test and adminstration, dose selection and therapeutic effective observing in the patients with asthma.
