Objective: In order to investigate treatment of Purpuric Nephritis (PN) in Children. In this study, the author applied Triterygium Wilfordii polyglucoside (TWP) combined with Radix Miltiorrhizae (RSM) in the treatment of PN (They draw from plants.).
Methods: The subjects were divided into 2 groups: test group containing 15 cases, the control group contained 15 cases. This study deals with the data of TWP (1mg/kg.d) combined with RSM (6~15g/d) in the treatment of PN, compared with a control group using TWP treatment only. The average duration of treatment was 3 months in both groups.
Results: The average time for C3 levels in the urine to normal in the test group and the control group were 40.33±4.51 and 50.00±5.30 days respectively (P<0.001). The time for microcirculation of nail fold to return to normal in the test group and the control group were 39.00±11.03 and 66.00±9.01 days respectively(P<0.001). These results indicate the effect on the test group was much better than on the control group.
Conclusion: These results indicate the therapeutic effect of TWP in combination with RSM is much better than that of TWP singly.
