Objective: To realize the status of neonatal in VitK deficiency and study the way of prevention and treatment.

Method: Detecting the content of plasma PIVKA-in hospitalized neonatal (5 days) with ELISA, positive result of PIVKA- indicating deficiency of VitK. VitK in two deferent doses were given to the cases with lacking of VitK or complicating bleeding. The change of PIVKA- after VitK input was monitored.

Results: In 214 hospitalized neonatals, 96 (44.86%) cases were found with PIVKA- positive, complication with bleeding in positive group was higher than negative ones, the deference is significant. Two deferent doses of VitK were given to the positive group, and plasma PIVKA-level were checked after 60-84 hrs, the effective rates were 70% and 80% respectively, no deference in the two doses groups was found.

Conclusion: Detection of PIVKA- in neonatal can reflect the status of VitK lack, VitK injection can effectively prevent neonatal bleeding, 1mg of VitK is recommended.
