INTERVENE STUDY ON THE ACCIDENTAL INJURY TO 7-13 YEAR-OLD CHILDREN

Objective:
To investigate the effect of hygienic knowledge education and Protective
measures on the happen rate of accidental injury to children.
Method:
From 1997.3.1 to 1999.2.30, 7-13 year-old children, their parents and their
teachers in two 5-year schools were given hygienic knowledge education,
protective measures for sling loss, scald, poisoning, incised wound, traffic
accident were adopted in schools and families. And at the same time, the compared
ones were given hygienic knowledge education only, in the same way. The
authors examined the condition of children accidental injury. The hygienic
knowledge about this was investigated before and after intervention.
Results: After
intervention, the parents’ safe knowledge and behavior improved clearly, compared
with controls there is significant difference. In the first intervention year,
there is no difference in the happen rate between the intervention ones and
control ones. Yet, in the second year ,the number of accidental injury
comes 211 and 229 distinguishly, there is significant difference between
them (x2=9.26).
Conclusion:
By intervening in school and family, the protection of children accidental
injury got initial results.
