Objective: We carried out a study of family analysis on 64 FC children with detailed family histories from 1986 to 2000 in order to probe into the mode of FC inheritance and its characteristic.
Methods: Particular family trees had been drawn and we analyzed the multicase families and core families.
Results: We found 1 family had 8 FC cases in 64 multicase families, 1 had 7, 3 families had 6 cases, 4 had 5, 7 had 4, 19 had 3, 30 had 2. The penetrance rate was 0.62. The proband¡¯s sibship¡¯s prevalencerate was 26.5%, 45.3% FC children¡¯s father or mother had the history of FC, and 28.0% children¡¯s mother only had the history of FC, their first degree relative¡¯s prevalence rate 34.4%, and the prevalence rate of their second or third degree relatives was 10.9% or 4.2%.
Conclusion: FC had obvious heterogeneity, its mode of inheritance was autosomal dominant inheritance with reduced penetrance.
