Objective: To observe the curative effect of infantile deafness treated by laser radiation.
Methods: one hundred cases were treated by semiconductor arsenide laser radiation. Tinggong (SI19) and Yifeng (SJ17) taken as principal points while Yamen (DU15) and Shanglianquan (EX) were as supplementary points. Each point was irradiated for 3~5 minutes once everyday. Total effect rate was observed according to the ABR test and clinic symptoms.
Result: In 100 cases, 19 patients were practically cured, 34 showed marked improvement, 34 were improved and 13 failed. The total effective rate was 87%.
Conclusion: Semi-conductor gallium arsenide laser irradiation of acupoints is an especially promising treatment method of deafness with painless, harmless and free of side effects.
