TREATMENT TO CHILDHOOD ASTHMA WITH AMINOPHYLLINE STEP-THERAPY

Objective: To study the effect of
aminophyllin for treatment of childhood asthma.
Methods: 5mg/kg aminophlline was
given in vein 3 time a day during acute status. In the catabasis, 80
patients were randomly divided into 4 group. 3mg/kg aminophylline was given
orally 3 times a day to the treatment group (25 cases). The other 3 control
groups were prescribed with Procaterol,Aminophylline plus Procaterol and
herbal medicine respectively,and followed up for a year. Recurrent time,
clnical effectness, lung function and blood aminophylline level were
monitored.
Result: The clinical
effectiveness and lung function of treatment group were improved
significantly, and the recurrent is much less compaeing ti the control
groups that took procaterol and herbal medicine. The blood aminophylline
level was within the range of 5-6ug/ml. No side effects were detected.
Conclusion: Aminophylline can be
taken as the first choice for treatment of childhood asthma with less
side-effects. It is safe, convenience and lower price.
