Objective:
The purpose of this research work is to investigate urodynamic change and
treatment of the mental voiding of frequent in children.
Methods: We
tested 38 children (22 boys, 16 girls, mean age 6.3 years) with voiding of
frequent only daytime to assess the function of lower urinary tract for
storing and voiding. Voiding cystourethrography, Cystometry and
Pressure/Flow/EMG were calculated; in addition, 16 cases were repeated with
Cystometry after thirty minutes.
Results:
During the period of storing, 89.5% of patients were dysfunction of
bladder, the urodynamic finding were categorized into 5 main patterns, ⑴ DI 12; ⑵ lower compliance 6; ⑶ DI with lower compliance
16; ⑷ increase of bladder sense
20; ⑸ small capacity 14. Only 2
cases (5.3%) were urethra sphincter excess activity. After measurement of
urodynamic, the symptom of 84.2% cases disappeared or impaired. Others were
cured by anticholinergic medication.
Conclusion:
It has been demonstrated that DI is the major pathophysiology of voiding of
frequent. Urodynamic measurement can not only estimate the function of
detrusor and urethra sphincter, but also train the ability that bladder
store urine. Drug is only assistant treatment.
