Text Box: MODERN RSEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ON PEDIATRICS OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE (TCM) Qiwen Zhang 1, Shouchan Wang2, Xia Zhao2 1Baishoutang, Weifang, China Nanjing University of TCM, Nanjing, China This paper introduces the theory research and clinical application about pediatrics of TCM in last fifty years. The signaficant effects have been acquired in such aspects as preventing and treating neonatal jaundice by using Chinese herbs with the functions of relieving heat and dissipating damps, treating virus pneumonia by orally taking Chines decoction and by using Chinese preparation parenterally, treating diarrhea by orally taking herbs、applying herbs externally and doing massage, treating nutritional diseases by supplementing and transporting spleen and treating nephrotic syndrome by TCM and TCM combining with western medicine. Some experiment research has been done to clarify the mechanism. 1875
