Methods: Seeing that childhood health work faces many new questions in the 21st century we will objectively analyze the function of traditional Chinese medicine with historical and evolving idea. Results: Traditional Chinese medicine in childhood corresponds well with the trend of medicine development (namely going back nature) because of its whole medicine character, corresponding idea, peculiar and excellent diagnosis and treatment method and individual treatment method with natural medicine. Conclusion: As long as we use new medicine science thinking and study technology about modern nature science and thoroughly abstract the heart of traditional medicine, traditional Chinese medicine in childhood will contribute greatly to childhood health in the 21st century. 1890
