Biology of the Neonate was founded in 1959 as "Biologia Neonatorum" by Professor Andre Minkowski of Paris.  It now incorporates Developmental Pharmacology and Therapeutics founded by Professor Jack Aranda of Detroit.
Aims and Scope: This journal is a prime source of information concerning developments in fetal and neonatal research.  In regulation of the growing possibilities for therapeutic intervention, editorial scope has expanded to include carefully selected paper on the specific clinical problems of the fetus and newborn as well as perinatal-pediatric pharmacology and drug therapy.
Editors/Editorial Board: The Editor-in Chief is Professor Jean Pierre Relier of Paris and there are 6 Section Editors:  Professors Fred Battaglia from Denver, Guiseppe Buonocore, Siena, Maria Delivoria-Papadoulos, Philadelphia, Jean Girard, Meudon-Belleuve, Henry Halliday, Belfast and Andre Lapillonne, Houston. There are 60 members of the international Editorial Board whose fields of expertise cover the full range of fetal and neonatal research.
Indexed/Abstracted: The journal is listed in Biological Abstracts, EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, MEDLINE/PubMed and Current Contents.
Circulation: The current circulation is 1050 but the Editors and Publishers are keen to increase this.  Paper and online versions of the journal exist.
	Impact Factor: This is currently 0.888
Acceptance Rates / Time to Process: The editorial policy and practice is that every submitted manuscript is peer-reviewed. The acceptance rate is about 60%.  Average time from submission to acceptance or rejection is 2-3 months.  Average time from acceptance to publication is 4-5 months.
