Objective: We report clinical finding, operation, therapeutic effects and follow up of 15 cases with esophageal liiatus hernia in children.
Material and Methods: The most parts of children's hiatus hernia are sliding. The main symptoms and signs are repeated vomiting, anemia and malnutrition.
Results: The growths and development are severely affected. Operations were performed through abdomen or chest, and the two types of operations were compared. The truma was less and recovery was faster by the operation through abdomen, but its process was difficult because the operating field was not easy to be exposed especially in the condition of accompanying short esophagus. It was easy to show the operating field and proceed through chest, but injury was severe.
Conclusions: Follow up shows that it is common to occur gastro-esophage reflux in short time after simple repair. The better results could be got by plux Nissen operation.
