THE CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF INOCULATING BCG

Objective: The aim of study was to investigate the
record of protein purified derivative (PPD) response before and after
inoculating BCG in patients with respiratory syncytial virus pneumonia, and
the relation between BCG and clinic.
Method: The study objects were divided into two groups.
One was treated with BCG, the other was treated with BCG accompanied by immunological
regulator IFN-γ,VitaminA.PPD was
injected by indermic,and callocity diameter of PPD response was determined in
pretreatment or posreatment respectively.
Result: Before intervention, all patients were injected
PPD, and all were negative. After 3 months, among the patients with BCG,
50%of PPD response were positive, callocity diameter were between 9-15mm;
25% were below 10 mm; 25% were negative, even in the deltoid section of
upper arms with injecting BCG, there were no scar left after purulency. On
this condition, BCG was repeatedly injected untill PPD(+).Retrorespect
research found that these patients had family history of atopy. In patients
with BCG and immunological regulor IFN-γ, VitaminA,PPD response were all
positive, callocity diameter wer between 15-20 mm, PPD response of some
patients change into positive from negative only spending 2 months.
Conclusion: Compared the result of the PPD response
of two groups, BCG, IFN-γ, VitaminA make PPD
response become positive in short time, and strong. The rate of recurring
weezy and infection was decreased stringly to two groups. Make sure that
BCG can alter immunological state, buildup TH1 function, promote cellular
immunology, correct TH subsets unbalance, so inoculating BCG may act as a
measurement of curing disease with TH subset confusion, especially
combinating with immunological regulor IFN-γ,VitaminA, the effect is better.
