Text Box: SURGERY OF THE PANCREASE IN CHILDREN Arynov NM, Kojabergenov AB, Shirtaev BK, Ibrahim M, Kalibekov KJ, Minbarhanov GK Syzganov Scientific Center of Surgery, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan With the aim of obtaining surgical tactics in children with tumors of the pancreas, we analyzed results of surgical treatment. Diagnosis was made with ultrasound scanning, computed tomography, endoscopy and biopsies. From 1994 to year 2000 in our center 9 children were operated aged 9 to 13 years old with tumors of the pancreas. To two of these patients, pancreatoduodenal resection with creation of pancreatojejuno-bilioanastomosis on isolated segment of small intestines as a results of adenocarcinoma and cystoadenoma of the head of the pancreas. Corpocaudal resection of the pancreas was done to three patients: as a result of cystoadenoma-2, adenocarcinoma-1. Cystojejunotomy was done to 4 patients. Post operative period without complication. The results were good-no complaints or residual re-occurrence was seen. 2395
