From 1994 to year 2000, 8 children operated aged 4 to 11 years old with rigid sub total and total decompensated stenosis secondary to burns without involving the stomach. To 5 of the patients with aim of enteral feeding gastrostoma was done initially. To all of the patients cervicoabdominal approach extirpation of the esophagus and plastic with whole stomach with oesophagogastroanastomosis was done.

Pyloromyotomy was not performed. There was no intra operative complication. In post operative period one patient developed abscess of the middle lobe of the right lung, which was treated conservatively.

The analysis of the above mention procedure proved more physiological when compared to oesophagocolоplasty.
