Ljiljana Mujovic
Clinical Center Institute, Podgorica,
Yugoslavia
The girl, aged 11, was received in Trebinje General
Hospital (December 1, 1993) due to a blank look and trembling of the upper
part of the body getting stronger. The symptom appeared one evening after
the TV news programme that showed some massacred human bodies. Four days
later she was transferred to Children's Hospital in Podgorica for further
examination and treatment, with working diagnostics: OPS. TU CEREBRI, EPI Symptomatica. The case study clinical
treatment denied the diagnosis made.
Anti-convulsive therapy was also rejected and the girl agreed to see
a pediatrician - psychotherapist whose aim was the girl's better adaptation
to hospital and diagnostic - therapy treatment. Drawing and play therapy as
well as psychodynamic counseling of her parents were selected by the
psychotherapeutic methods. Five-day work with the girl, her mother and
father, caused that the girl was released from hospital as cured. The case
illustrates the importance of physic component in the girl's posttraumatic
converse state. Please see the attached drawings as the key evidence of
psychotherapeutic treatment.
