CONGENITAL AND ACQUIRED DEFORMITY OF THE THORAX IN CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS

With the aim of determining surgical tactics analysis of applicable method of correction is carried out.  Diagnosis of the disease was made from the results of X-rays, tomographs fiber optic bronchoscopies, ultrasound scanning.  In our center from 1994 to year 2000 42 patients from 2 years old to 18 years were operated with deformities of the thorax. Pectus excavatum of the thorax 1-11 degree was seen in 35 patients, to whom sternoplastic Urmonaso-Kondrashina procedures (32), Palty procedure (3). To six  patients sternoplasty was done simultaneously with correction of congenital defects using artificial blood circulation (extra corporal) blood circulation. Pectus carinatum congenital type corrected 3, acquired-in 4. No complications. The results of all the patients were good.
