Objective: To investigate the application of simplified laminar
airflow room in patients with leukemia during bone marrow suppression due
to chemotherapy. Method: Comparing the number of bacteria colonies
cultured from airflow before and after the infiltration by the unit, and
also analysis the difference between the infection in patients with
simplified laminar airflow room with those without.
Results: Simplified
laminar airflow room is capable of infiltrating bacteria from airflow.
Infection rate in patients with simplified laminar airflow room was lower than
those without.
Conclusion: Simplified
laminar airflow room is capable purging bacteria from airflow and it is a
approach after chemotherapy.
Key words: Simplified laminar airflow room Chemotherapy Bone
marrow suppression Infection rate.
