THE RESULTS OF EVALUATION FOOD SKIN TEST (PRICK
TEST) IN CHILDREN WITH ASTHMA, MLLERGIC RHINITIS AND URTICARIA

Objective: Food allergy is a formation of according
to IgE early and late immunologic reaction which is composed of eating some
kind of food. Primary target organs are skin, gastrointestinal and
respiratory system. Cows milk, egg, peanut wheat and cereal, fish and
shell-fiuit and vegetable the most often reactions in childhood term are
caused by.
Methods: This study has been planed in order to find out
food that causes allergy by giving prick skin test in those asthma,
rhinitis, urticaria. Food prick skin test has been made in following 150
cases at Ege University of School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics,
Division of Pediatrics Allergy Outpatient. The cases were between the ages
of 5-18 which were 64.7% male, 35.33% female and in total of 150 cases were
42%(++) and over. Prick skin tests have been made against cacao, coffee,
tea, oliva, onion, garlic, red and black paper, com maise, wheat and 1st
flour, mixture of seven cereals, fish and shell, fruits as apple, banana,
orange, peach, strawberry, peanut, hazelnut and vegetables as potatoes,
tomatoes and egg and chicken.
Results: The most reaction has been found in those
12(8,1%) patients against cereals, in 3(2%) patients against red pepper and
in 2 (1,3%) patients against egg, fish and hazelnut. As a result, rhinitis
and asthma+rhinitis cases those diagnosed have expressively been found
against food skin tests.
Conclusion: In diagnose of a topic diseases history,
clinic and laboratory findings together with inhaler allergens also against
foods skin tests should be perform. In (+) prick skin test cases since it’s
a double blind placebo control oral provacatinon test which is the gold
standard test and also the prick test is used to find diagnosis of food
allergy.

oral provacation test.
