Objective: What is the role of the internet in children's social
development? How does the internet shape attitudes and behaviors regarding
violence, sex, and drugs?
Methods: The paper will examine the content of the internet with
appropriate examples from the areas of sexual, violent, and drug related
web sites.
Results: The paper will present various content analysis and surveys
supporting the findings. These secondary results will reveal the issues
related to children's easy access to internet sites designed for adults.
Conclusion: The major issues to be discussed are how we
"protect" children from materials deemed inappropriate for their
access. Various solutions to the problem will be examined.
