Objective: To prevent further spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Worldwide, the WHO currently estimates 16,000 new HIV infections daily and 100,000,000 new cases in the next ten years.
Methods: From infectious disease principles, review of current literature and personal ideas, I have tried to put together facts and ideas that all people can understand and that can apply to all people in all cultures in all countries. This epidemic will end if men, women and children will face the disease with knowledge, courage and strength.
Results: Six facts and ideas.
1. AIDS is caused by a virus.
2. HIV virus is transmitted by sexual contact with infected persons, by contaminated needles and transfusions, and under some circumstances from an infected mother to her baby.
3. Mother to baby spread can most often be prevented by medication.
4. A family is the best structure for a society: one man and one woman for life.
   a. Homosexuality exists in every country: the same principle of one partner for life or no sexual contact is the best.
   b. Young people should delay sexual intercourse until a partner-for-life is found.
   c. Men should not have sex with young girls or women against their will. Women should have control over this aspect of their lives.
   d. Prostitution and sexual exploitation of children should end.
5. Effects of lifestyle: good diet, physical activity, stress reduction and fun. Avoid tobacco, alcohol problems, and drugs.
6. Effects of Peace vs War, Poverty, and Population.
Conclusion: Physicians and nurses care about prevention of HIV/AIDS. Children and adults should be healthy and have the tools to remain healthy.
